The control knob sets the level of the signal.

This module is also a limiter, which prevents the audio signal to excees a certain threshold.

When X is set to the minimum and Y is set to the maximum, the compressor works only as a limiter. This configuration is useful to amplify or attenuate the level of the signals (through the control knob in the dock) without affecting the character of the sound. A hidden compressor with a similar configuration is always placed at the end of the chain.
