Avoiding unwanted distortions

Probably the easiest way to form high peaks in the audio signal is by playing multiple audio sources at the same time. For this reason you should keep the volume levels of the File Player, the Microphone and the Sampler to a value below the maximum when you can.

Some effects can cause distortion without introducing noticeable peaks (i.e. they're not detected by the peak indicator) in the output. In these cases your ear is responsible to discover the issue.
Resampling
The Sampler can be used not only as a source player, but also like a special effect.

"Slice repeater" effect (particularly interesting for vocals and melodies). Take a Sampler and put it on the right of the audio source you want to process. Remove its quantization, then set a clip to the loop-toggle mode and its choke group to 0. Now, while holding the ARM button, tap repeatedly and very quickly such clip button. You will loop small fragments of the source.

For a "muting" effect, record a 16th-length clip of silence in a new Sampler. Set the silence clip to choke group 0 and trigger it to mute the Sampler's input. You may invert the behavior by creating a sequence where the clip is triggered at every step, and use the MUTE button to inhibit the triggering.

Manually slicing a groove on the fly. While holding the ARM button, drag your finger over the clip buttons quite rapidly, so that when a clip ends a recording, the next one you touch will begin the next recording. With this method, you may slice a loop into 8 clips by using two Samplers (of course you should hold two ARM buttons). You may have to practice in order to move your finger over the clip buttons at the right speed. Remember to set the quantization.

Reversing loop. Sample a loop and reverse it. You can play it together with the original one, or muting the original by setting the clip to choke group 0.

Wave shaping. If you have a constant frequency wave (e.g. recorded from a synth) as an audio source, you can resample it and play the resampled clips over it in order to change the magnitude of the harmonics of the original wave.
Delay

Tape-like speed change. In the Dub Delay module the central horizontal line corresponds to a null feedback, that is only one repetition of the sound will be executed. If you drag your finger along such line, with no quantization and the mix knob set to have the fully effected sound, you can simulate the effect of playing a tape at a variable speed, even backwards. With these settings, in order to minimize unpleasant glitches due to delay time changes between two touches, you can begin and end the drag gestures at the extreme left/right edges of the pad.

Endings. To end a musical session you may like to drag you finger to the lowest edge of a Dub Delay. This will mute the input, keeping the delay alive with a high feedback on low frequencies.
Wave Shaper

Gate-like effect. If you set the mix to the middle and touch around the top left area of the pad of a Wave Shaper until you will get a crunchy gate-like effect (the sound tends to mute between the beats). If you low the mix value, to get a similar effect (but more distorted) you'll have to raise the level of distortion (the X value).
HP filter

You can use the HP filter as a bass booster (e.g. to enhance your kicks) if you set a low cutoff frequency and high resonance (the cursor must be close to the top-left corner of the pad), and set the mix to a value between the minimum and the middle value.
