First off, bought this app as something new to play with over the holiday break, and it's not at all what I was expecting. It's quite a bit more actually! Honestly, I was expecting just another music app… if you know what I mean. But! Ricepad has flow, something fresh to toy with.
So, I'm not going to request much, congrats on getting the app out there and I hope more people come to find it! I can't wait to see what more comes out of this, new modules, new packs, user videos, live jams, etc etc..
The few things that I'd like to see in the near future, besides for time-stretching which seems to already be a priority, is with the sampler. I realize now, at first I thought I found a bug, but the mute button only mutes the sequence. Pretty cool, but I tend to resample to a new sampler a few patterns, then play around with those. And I'd like to do some kind of glitchy muting without having to start/stop the clip. Now, the way I'm thinking this could work is a few ways. One, being an export clip to file player, or just a general option to save a clip to use in the file player, allowing me to set cue points or fade out the clip. Second just being another mute button that works as an actual mute button.
Both options would be awesome to see in your environment at some point in time.
Or! Just a thought, an automated gate module would be cool. Like, X axis would be the quantization (1/1, 1/4, 1/16, etc), while Y would be… uh, like attack/release? Kind of give it that breathing sidechain compression effect.
Thanks for taking the time to read and such, and again, nice app!
